1. BOX OFFICE 

   Box office is the most important and major part of earnings for any films . Box office means the revenue generated through sales of tickets on counter of cinemas. In a nutshell when a person goes to cinema buys the ticket it is that amount which could be anything from place to place to be Rs100 to 400. that is collected by theatre owners. Now another thing to remember is that from this amount 50% is held by theatre owners(exhibitors) from this amount. Usually all the taxes including entertainment tax etc is cut from the exhibitors share. But can be passed on to any party according to their agreement.

              It means that the producer(or distributor if sold) would get share of  7 core.
And as the total business of jatt n juliet on box office was 35 crore it means that the producer/distributor would get atleast get 12 crore as their share.
And that is box office. On average a punjabi movie gets 50 lakh by selling all other rights including music and satellite rights.

And this is just start of a industry that was absent just 3 years before . So there is sufficient statistics to show that punjabi movie business would touch a figure of 1000crore industry by 2015. Opening of new terrortories and adoption of punjabi films by more number of theatres would only increase the inflow of money in makers profit.

The quantity of movies released every year has tremendously grown to 18 a year but industry can sustain atleast 30 releases a year if done right. thanks to inhibitions of new producers the film scene has less chances of falling on its face due to lack of new investors . Only veteran and interested producers are making films as yet. And no matter how many films release in a year , the bad ones will loose and good one's cannot be stopped from making money.

Punjabi Films are BIG money makers

Revival is oftentimes a difficult process, and specially for a film industry. Usually it is due to the fact that most of people involved earlier had to face losses and adversities and new investors are just too scared to invest because all they ever heard was that Punjabi films were a loosing business.
  And even now when Punjabi cinema has shown that it could rise up to big Bollywood films its not common to see new investors. Mostly because people they consult from their know how are people who lost money and have developed a bad taste, in most of cases it is due to their own shortcomings but in the end it is all blamed upon the industry.
      But now Punjabi Film Industry is doing what many couldn't even perceive, life time revenues are touching figures like 40crore and 50 crores. But in reality the share of makers is 50% but even that is too much for a investment as little as 1.5crores. But still even after earning 4 to 10 times the earnings its a business which scares the shit out of many people and often new producers just fail to realize the potential .
